STAMP gave back and so did YOU!
Montgomery, AL – In February 2015, Stamp Idea Group, a Montgomery based full-service advertising, interactive and media firm, donated over 850 hours or $95,000 of creative services to aid non-profit organizations in an intense 24-hour creative blitz known as CreateAthon®. During this annual event, Stamp provides services to selected non-profits that include strategic marketing planning, brand development, copywriting and design services for print and broadcast advertising as well as social media. The CreateAthon® event was held at the firm’s Montgomery office on February 26-27, 2015.
The selected non-profits for this year’s event were: Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery, Friends of the Alabama Governor’s Mansion, Urban SEED Xchange, Jubilee Run for Cancer, Medical AIDS Outreach of Alabama, River Region United Way, Montgomery Education Foundation, Montgomery Area Food Bank and Renascence, Inc.
In celebration of the 13th year involved with CreateAthon®, Stamp decided to incorporate a canned food drive into the event. With a goal to collect 1,300 cans or $1,300 in five days Stamp included three prize levels as an incentive to encourage friends and family to donate. The top prize was earned with a minimum donation of 50 cans or $50 and the reward was a ping pong match against Mayor Todd Strange that was held in June.
Prior to the ping pong event Stamp collected 963 pounds of food and $1,120. While here playing, the Mayor said he would donate $10 for every point he lost by and then he challenged the three Stamp partners (Jim Leonard, Bruce Reid and David Allred) to a final game with more money on the table (all for MAFB of course). With that challenge, Stamp raised an additional $310 making our total contribution to the food bank equal to 10,258 pounds of food.

Since its founding, CreateAthon has grown from a single-market event in Columbia, SC to a 501(c)(3) organization based in Richmond, VA that has attracted more than 99 marketing agencies, universities, corporations and professional clubs as official CreateAthon partners. This year, 26 CreateAthon partners will hold pro bono marathons in their respective markets. Cumulatively, CreateAthon has helped more than 1,600 nonprofit organizations in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom by delivering approximately 3,500 pro bono marketing projects with a market value of $16.7 million.
