Stamp’s Work for Columbus, GA Convention & Visitors Bureau Wins Regional Tourism Marketing Award
Montgomery, AL - The Columbus, Georgia Convention & Visitors Bureau was honored as the recipient of the “Shining Example Award for Best Marketing” by the Southeast Tourism Society. Stamp Idea Group, a Montgomery-based advertising, interactive and media agency, produced the award-winning work for the Columbus, GA CVB. The awards were presented on September 8, 2016 at the Southeast Tourism Society annual meeting in Birmingham, Alabama.
After reviewing independent research studies that revealed that Columbus visitors appreciated the numerous and growing outdoor adventures and activities that the city has been carefully curating over the last 10+ years, Stamp developed a Destination Marketing Action Plan where the “Go All Out” campaign was created. The award-winning campaign includes website design and development, SEO efforts, multiple campaign-specific web landing pages, social media marketing, and regional print advertising.
In the first four months of the campaign, traffic to the website increased by 21% year over year. The economic impact of hotel stays has increased 57% over the 2016 goal YTD with $35.4 million in sales and lodging tax revenue. The Southeast Tourism Society judged the winning campaign on research, creativity, demographic targets and strategy, and its level of success.
"Tourism is economic development,” stated Peter Bowden, President and CEO of Columbus, GA Convention & Visitors Bureau. “This recognition is truly special as it represents a dramatic departure for our CVB; an opportunity to rethink how we tell the Columbus story. The team members at STAMP took our destination research and used it to help us create and measure success. And in 12 short months the results are phenomenal. Thanks to the team at STAMP. You make the Columbus CVB #AllOutProud."
